Bob Neuwirth Celebrates Showing of New Work in New York City at the 711 Gallery
New York City, NY-October 22, 2008- Bob Neuwirth has been spending time in his studio in New York City for the past five years. Bob last showed work in 2005 in his meatpacking district space that has since become part of the High Line Park Project. He is now showing new work created in his current Bowery studio at the 711 Gallery in Manhattan's West Village.
On October 22, 2008 there was an opening party that gathered friends from the worlds of art, music and film. Guests included fellow artists, Brice and Helen Marden, Larry Poons and Paula de Luccia, Forrest "Frosty" Myers, Mary Heilman, Ronnie Landfield, Kevin Teare, West Coast artist, Laddie John Dill and fashion designer, Pamela Barish, Judy Collins, Garland Jeffreys, Howard Johnson, Cindy Lee Berryhill, Tony Leone and Fiona McBain from the band Ollabelle. Filmmakers, Ellen Kuras, Jim Desmond and Frazer Pennebaker. Also writers, John Byrne Cooke, Anthony de Curtis, Ratso Sloman, Bill Flanagan, Joan Juliet Buck and Ceslie Armstrong.
The party included music by Los Alegres de Guerrero, a duo playing Norteño music that Bob discovered playing on the subway. Parked out in front of the gallery was the Wafels and Dinges truck making sure that guests were treated to Belgian waffles topped with strawberries and whipped cream.
