"DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAIN" SUMMER TOUR ADDS 12 ADDITIONAL MARKETS

41-City Tour, Featuring Award-Winning Music From the Film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"

Kicks Off in Louisville, Kentucky on June 25th

Nashville, Tennessee (April 22, 2002) - The Coen Brothers and T Bone Burnett have announced twelve additional markets for the enormously popular Down From the Mountain summer tour: St. Louis, Memphis, Houston, Shreveport, Little Rock, Kansas City, Madison, Indianapolis, Charleston WV, Chester, WV, Roanoke, and Birmingham. The CMT-sponsored tour featuring American roots music from the film O Brother, Where Art Thou?, hits the road on June 25th in Louisville, Kentucky, and ends on August 21st in Birmingham, Alabama, with a total of forty-two shows. It is a joint production of Immortal Entertainment Group, United Talent Agency, Metropolitan Entertainment and House of Blues Concerts, Inc.

Artists include Ricky Skaggs, The Del McCoury Band, Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Dan Tyminski and Jerry Douglas, Emmylou Harris, Ralph Stanley, Patty Loveless, Norman & Nancy Blake, Chris Thomas King, The Whites, The Nashville Bluegrass Band and show host Bob Neuwirth. The lineup will be further enhanced on selected dates by the Cox Family, the Fairfield Four, The Flatlanders and the Peasall Sisters.

Highlighting the vitality of the bluegrass, gospel, rural country and blues traditions in what the Boston Globe called "almost three hours of acoustic bliss," the first leg of the tour in winter 2002, garnered rave reviews and sold out 19 shows in 17 cities.

Certified five-time platinum, the soundtrack for O Brother, Where Art Thou? (Lost Highway/Mercury Records) showcases a broad array of the best in American roots music. The soundtrack and its artists' solo recordings took home an incredible nine Grammy awards, including Album of the Year (O Brother, Where Art Thou?), Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media (O Brother, Where Art Thou?), Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for "I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow" (Dan Tyminski, Harley Allen & Pat Enright), Best Male Country Vocal Performance for "O Death" (Ralph Stanley), Producer of the Year (T Bone Burnett), Best Traditional Folk Album ("Down From the Mountain"), Best Country Performance By A Duo or Group with Vocal for "The Lucky One" (Alison Krauss and Union Station), Best Country Song for "The Lucky One" (Alison Krauss and Union Station) and Best Bluegrass Album for "New Favorite" (Alison Krauss and Union Station). The soundtrack received both album and record of the year at the 2001 CMA Awards, is one of the top ten selling albums of 2001, the #1 selling country album of the year, holding the top spot on Billboard's "Country Album" chart for more than 20 weeks, as well as achieving the #1 spot on the "Billboard 200" chart, where is still places in the top five.

"This music is not mass-produced, field-tested or taste-tested," says Dan Hays, executive director of the International Bluegrass Music Association, which gave out five O Brother-related honors, including Song Of The Year and Album Of The Year, at its annual awards show. "The music itself gives people an alternative to the mainstream, full of authenticity and integrity. This is real music coming from the hearts of these artists."
